Home School Connect
|
A service that provides secure access to your personal work space and other shared resources in school from any computer connected via broadband to the internet.

Broadband
|
An ADSL or Cable service capable of 512 Megabit or faster (router or ADSL modem connected) . Replaces the old-fashioned ‘Dial-up’ service.

Operating System
|
The ‘workhorse’ of your computer, for example:
- Windows 95 (archaic, certainly incompatible with Home School Connect)
- Windows 98 (outdated, likely to be very problematic for Home School Connect).
- Windows Millennium (ditched by Microsoft; incompatible with Home School Connect ).
- Windows XP (mainstay of home computing, compatible with Home School Connect).
- Windows Vista (the ‘in-bet weeny’ problematic with Home School Connect).
- Windows 7 (new, very nice, currently some issues with Home School Connect).
- Apple Mac (may work with Home School Connect, needs special changes; see here).
- Linux (Compatibility status unknown; see here for more details).
